Call for the “NGO Project Latin American Women – No to violence against women”.

Committed to the vision of a world free of gender violence, the members of Zonta e-club of Switzerland 1 are calling for the “NGO Project Latin American Women – No to violence against women”. This award is aimed at Latin American organizations dedicated to the protection of women.

The winning organization will receive a prize of CHF 500 and will enjoy visibility among the other organizations that are part of Zonta International in different countries and through our different social networks.

The call for applications will be open from 06/19/2023 to 08/26/2023.

CONTEST RULES


The first step to apply for the “NGO Project Latin American Women – No to Violence against Women” is to present an organizational profile that allows us to know the strategies, priorities and programs of the organization.

Stage One: Organizational Profile

  1. The organization must confirm that it is legally constituted as a Non-Governmental Organization or as a Non-Profit Association.
  2. The organization must send a copy of its current legal statutes.
  3. The organization shall send a copy of the annual budget for the year 2022.
  4. The organization shall carry out its activities in countries in Latin America.
  5. The organization should describe the type of services or projects it conducts to address violence against women.
  6. The organization must indicate the use to which it would put the CHF 500 prize, if it is the winning organization.
  7. Funding will not be given to individuals, political parties, electoral campaigns, organizations associated with governments or religious causes.
  8. Second Stage: Interview

A jury made up of Latin American women of great trajectory in the empowerment of women will conduct virtual interviews with the shortlisted finalists. Questions will be asked such as:
  • Brief introduction, mission and vision of the organization
  • What activities or projects do you currently have against violence against women?
  • What achievements have you made against violence against women?
  • How many women and children have you supported to date?
  • What other type of impact have they had on your community?
  • What are your plans or expectations for the next 2 or 3 years in the fight against violence against women?

AWARDS

The award ceremony will be held on November 18, 2023 virtually (Zoom). All e-Club participants and finalist organizations will be contacted by Zoom to attend the award ceremony, and we will also have a special guest from last year’s winning organization, where she will tell us about her experience as an award winner.

The winning NGO will be chosen by a 3-member jury. 1 member of the jury belongs to the e-Club and 2 members of the jury will be people outside the e-Club.

CHF 500 will be credited to the winning organization’s official account. This NGO must inform the e-Club after 6 months about the use of the donation and confirm that the funds were used as indicated in the application.
